Call for abstracts

We are pleased to announce this call for abstract submissions for consideration at the 12th BIC International Conference, being held in Palermo, Italy on 8-10 September 2023.

Abstract submission guidelines

Abstracts may be submitted in English only electronically through our web platform.

Abstract topics: Haemophilia A, Haemophilia B, von Willebrand disease & von Willebrand factor, Factor VIII, Thrombotic microangiopathies (TMAs), Haemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS), Thrombosis, Gene therapy in hemophilia, Immune thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura, Other.

Abstracts selected for the oral communication and the poster sessions will have to be presented by one of the actual authors. Presenting authors can be designated at a later time.

You can submit your abstract without being registered*. The presenting author must be registered for the Conference at the time of the congress to present his/her work. Please, note that you will have to register for the Conference in a separate online platform.
*Authors transfer copyright to the congress and to the Journal on submission

Please, note that encore abstracts are not accepted.

The length of the abstract must not exceed 300 words. The title must not exceed 200 characters (including spaces) or approximately 20 words.

If applicable, submitted abstracts may be structured into: Background/Aims, Materials and Methods, Results, Conclusions.

When submitting your abstract, you may upload in the system also one Table and/or Figure. Figures should be submitted as .jpg files with a resolution of 300 dpi (dots per inch).

Please enter all authors in the order they should appear in the heading of the abstract. Specify all authors’ full names and affiliations and avoid including degree acronyms (i.e., BS, MS, PhD, etc) or credentials (CSCS, etc). Affiliations should be in English and must include Department, Institute, Town, Country. Example: John Smith, Department of Internal Medicine, University of Milan, Milan, Italy.

Acknowledgement of receipt of the submission will be sent to the registered e-mail address.

Update 31/01. All accepted abstracts will be published as a Supplement of Haemophilia (IF 2021 4.268). The Book of Abstracts will be made available for download from the Conference website on the first day of the Conference.
