Because Italy and Milan will be the site of the ISTH Congress in 2020 chaired by Flora Peyvandi, the Chairs of the Scientific Committee of the 10th BIC International Conference led again by Flora Peyvandi and Pier Mannuccio Mannucci have chosen to hold the 10th BIC in 2019 and combine it with another event focused specifically on factor VIII inhibitors.

We are therefore pleased to announce the Joint meeting of the 10th BIC and the 3rd Inhibitor Conference, which will be held in Italy from 6-8 September 2019.

Both conferences are well recognized around the world as relatively small but exclusive meetings on very specialist topics presented by top international speakers. This joint meeting is meant to take the best of both conferences and feature only the most novel advances of basic science and clinical research in hemophilia, rare inherited coagulation disorders, von Willebrand factor and von Willebrand disease, gene therapy, the thrombotic microangiopathies (TTP, HUS and aHUS) and, of course, factor VIII inhibitors.

The Programme will not only include Scientific Sessions on the aforementioned topics by invited speakers but also freely submitted abstracts presented as oral communications or posters as well as Satellite Symposia sponsored by premier pharmaceutical companies. A new session of the Scientific Programme will focus on the best innovations by the industry in this field.

The major innovations that were presented at the most recent events suggest that 2019 will be a year of continuous development in treatment approaches and new drugs. Data from basic science research and clinical trials are outlining new scenarios, not only in gene therapy but also in the progress of replacement and non-replacement therapies with new drugs appearing in the market.

At the upcoming Joint BIC & Inhibitors Conference, clinical and translational science will be discussed from different angles during a full 3-day programme.
