We are pleased to announce that this time-honored conference, organized every 3 years, will take place on 15-17 September 2017 in Rome, Italy.
As for the previous occasions, the main topics will be: advances in the hemophilias, rare inherited coagulation disorders, von Willebrand factor and von Willebrand disease and the thrombotic microangiopathies (ADAMTS-13, TTP and HUS). Because 2017 marks 40 years after the
discovery of desmopressin (DDAVP) as a therapeutic agent, this topic
will be also featured. The scientific programme will include not only
Scientific Sessions on the forementioned topics (involving invited
speakers but also freely submitted abstracts presented as oral
communications or posters) but also Satellite Symposia sponsored by
premier pharmaceutical companies.

The 9th BIC International Conference 2017 is jointly organized by IRCCS Ca’ Granda Foundation Hospital of Milan, Italy, and the Angelo Bianchi Bonomi Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center of Milan, Italy.
The well-consolidated format of this rather small conference aims at gathering the very top specialists and have them present and discuss their most recent research and most novel data during three days of intense meetings in a 'campus' type of experience. A truly full immersion into basic and clinical science. Networking between ‘masters’ and promising researchers is encouraged, aided by sport challenges and social events. History, culture and the arts are also considered when choosing the venues, as an inspiring background for learning.
In the past edition, in 2014, the BIC Conference was held in Bari, the Apulia region of Italy, and was attended by over 300 delegates from all continents (75% International guests!).
80 abstracts were accepted and published in the Abstract Book.
